| Backing Paint?
Well I'm working on the interior lexan on my Wraith. Of course did my regular prep work dish washing detergent...cleaned off with a microfiber towel. Let it sit overnight in a closed box. Next day seeing that I had no polycarbonate paint besides black backing paint I decided to try it. Bad idea?? Heated the backing paint (new can) in warm water for a few min. Then shook vigorously for a minute. Painted in my garage temperature was around 70 degrees. First coat I shot misting lightly it immediately bubbled up. Is this because backing paint is meant to adhere to paint? Second coat after letting it dry stuck onto the first coat very well. Hopefully the paint won't flake off. For future reference do I have to use the color I want then use backing paint? Or is it okay to use backing paint the entire piece I'm painting? |
