I've always used the backer with those paints. Not sure what it would do. The other positive with using the backer black is I have used it on the outside of the body since it dries flat.

Backing black is NOT designed to go directly on polycarb plastics.
It's designed to stick to other paints {as a backer} or regular plastic.
If you put it directly polycarb and/or use it as a regular black paint it cracks easy and flakes off when the body flexes.

That makes no sense what so ever. If it wasn't flexible it would dry hard behind the other paint and crack them both. And it sure wouldn't hold up to my girlfriend's driving.

Just ran this for the first time today and it barely scratched it even though it's painted on the outside. She was definitely not easy on it.

The only difference I noticed was that it was a lot more opaque so that when backing with it there is no chance of transparency.
