Default acrylic paint

For painting a hardbody such as the hilix I know you gys use acrylic paint for it but would it be possible to use autopaint? Like duplicolour perfect match for 1;1 cars? Also auto car primer? Or would i need to go out and buy acrylic paint? Cause i have lots of auto paint and primer at home.

thanks guys.

Also i did a search on this i only found one person that said it was okay but i want some more opinions.

Dupli-color can be used on hardbodies. They even produce a special primer for model painting.

The only problem I've ever had was using marhyde self etching primer, it didn't etch or prime very well. When I pulled up the mask I was using the primer came off too.

As above, I use all types. I like using acrylic for my black washes because it gives me a bigger margin of error when I'm mixing it up.

this is Krylon with an acrylic black, black wash.

The blue stripes are decals. RPP Hobby carries them.
