Default Hard body durability

I'm new to rc crawlin. I picked up a scx10 honcho off a buddy a few weeks ago and have taken it out on a few runs. It has taken multiple rolls on the runs, some 5-6 times. I have a newbright tj hardbody that I plan to model after my 1:1 tj. How tough are these hard bodies? The lexan honcho body seems to give and take the beating. Will the NB body take it? I plan on building a metal roll cage, bumper with stinger, flares and rocker guards so most of it will be protected. The hood is what I'm concerned with.
Thanks

Hardbodies crack a lot easier than Lexan. Not sure how detailed your body is but stuff like mirrors and roll bar lights break off fairly easy. Good news is when you mess up that body you can try something else.

If mounted properly they can take a pretty good beating. I have experienced some of the cracking around the mount holes as thats typically where the most stress would be during rollovers. Just dont ever roll it and you wont have anything to worry about!!

I have had my hardbody rigs fall 5-6ft off of ledges and rocks. Not one crack. It's all about how you mount the cage work and how you mount the body. I always use washers when I bolt through the body for extra strength.

I like to smear a thin layer of ShooGoo on my pillars or on thinner areas where a crack is likely. The ShooGoo helps strengthen everything and in the event of a crack, helps hold things together so it doesnt completely break.

Thanks for the info and tips guys. Was thinking with the cage frame mounted and a decent rad hoop and stinger there shouldn't be all that much actual body contact in a roll.
