Default Help with hilux rubber mirrors

I bought some of these to mount on my HPI 79 ford super crew. But they wont stay mounted. Anyone have a good way to keep these on without them pulling back through the hole?

Shoe-goo is another good adhesive to keep everything together.

Tried the shoe goo and I have the double sided tape they use on vent visors. No success . Sticks to the body but wont stick to the rubber mirror.

just an idea but try cleaning the rubber mounting area with some alcohol in case the release agent is still coating the rubber and wont allow anything to stick
