Talking '73 BRE Bronco

I finally got my scaler's body painted and trimmed. Just wanted to show off my first real "complicated" paint job. It was inspired by the BRE Datsun. I had some bleeding and a couple of the lines aren't the smoothest. But, it's good enough for me.

On to the pic:

Nice job. I used to have the BRE Datsun in a slot car.

I use to have a real Bre Datsun 510 model, I beat that little car to death, it just never quit, like the colors.

Yeah, I'm glad I went with the BRE colors. Might get another bronco body and do a Ivan Stewart theme too. My dad had a Datsun 510 but had to sell it when we lost the shop.

you can take a fine tip sharpie and a piece of masking tape on the outside of the body and mask just slightly outside of the line and trace along the tape with the sharpie and the "bleeding will disappear- little trick I used to use.

always nice to see another Bronco out there!

give it a try-

I think I get what you're saying. Only problem is that the bleeding is way to big to cover up.

Next time around, if you get that kind of leaking under the tape, and before you add the next color you can scrape away the overspray/bleeding. A curved exacto or scalpel shaped blade is easiest. Painted a lot of detailed touring cars 10+ years ago and this was a simple fix to an occasional mask problem.

I didn't see it until it was all said and done. I'll also use paint masks made for rc cars next time too.
