Default F350 single cab w/ Dovetail 1st ABS body experience

Alright! Glad you chose to check out my F350 project shell, this will be going on my 1.9 based scx10. It's been about a month and a half now and I am finishing up the heavily glossed clear coat. Reflections in the paint kind of gloss

I am pretty far ahead of you guys by now but I am working on the build up section, stay tuned.

Thanks bud! yeah at least for now its DoH style entry

Ideally I would like to fab up some boat sides with a rocker slide bar from the front to rear wheel well. But I don't have the tools for metal fab just yet though.

Right on thanks jbeohler

Wasn't sure what I was going for with this truck, yes that cage was used from my wrangler. Funny the cage actually fit the uncut bed perfectly, just had to cut the A pillars and keep the overcab rack.

I'll get a few detailed photos uploaded of the body and cage soon.

thats good to hear on the cage. im working on a proline f250 four door body and was looking to put that cage on. gonna cut out the stock bed and put the lexan part from a honcho rear cage in the bed. its got dingo fender flares hilux bucket light bar. gonna wrap it in either arctic or dessert camo vinyl wrap. jus waiting to get back home from working outta state to finish it off. you jus need a interior kit and that would put the icing on your truck.

How about some rust for the trail beauty marks. Using a fine tip brush I painted in the Rust Enamel to the scratches and gouges, not globing it on just getting the area wet and covering what I want to looks like rust. Next I dabbed a thicker brush into the Orange Rust weathering powder and dabbed that onto the scratches I previously painted.

If you take this on and want it to look good practice on a piece of paper and see how the rust paint and orange rust powder work together. Happy rusting everyone

Body lighting update - CDL LED's

Huge thanks to Crawler-Dad for helping me get my F-350 fully hooked up with CDL's Version 2 products. The custom tailored head and tail lights are great and brighter than any 5mm led you could put in there. I am so stoked to get this thing out on the trail at night, hearing nothing but good things about how bright these lights are. Girlfriend even got mad cause they were so bright

This truck now has CDL headlights - CDL 5" top bar - CDL 2" bed light bar - and im working on the mounts for the CDL tail lights but here is a preview of whats been going on.

Running on a E-flight 3s 1800mah battery I'll have to get back to you guys on run time.

Completely drowning out the 3mm amber lower running lights

I happened to come upon the aluminum mesh when buying a can of bondo body filler, was included as a gap and hole filler. Been looking for something similar but haven't found anything quite like this stuff.

Way to think outside the box, I need to find something for the Grill on my Tundra build.

Was this just a light kit that you put together? If so where and how much have you spent on it? Looking really cool.

All the lights came from Crawler-Dad Lights in the vendor section

5" V2
2" V2
(2) 1/2" V2 strips for the headlights

Just had to solder in everything - make a split harness to power the grille section, roof and cab light, and I still have to complete the tail lights.

Great job, I like how you did the dovetail. There's not enough of them done around here.
