Default looking for 9 inch wheelbase body

looking for body with a 9 inch wheel and don't know what scale that is, been looking at Target, Walmart, Toys are us, radio shack, and cant find one, they are either to short or too long, and don't look right, plus when you look at possible bodies they don't give wheelbase dimensions. I bring tape measure to help me find one. its for a exceed, and can't lengthen or shorten links or drive shafts. the body I'm using now looks cool, but needs to be longer in my opinion

thank you guys I bought the dodge ram body, but the wheel base is to long, and the exceed can not be lengthened cause of the setup, but the guy did throw in this Hpi body and it looks like a Chevy s10, it fits good, need to figure out some body mounts just been lazy.

That fits pretty good. You can make longer links if you want to stretch it out to fit the dodge.

I know I can stretch the links but I don't think the driveshafts will extend out far enough. and the way the shocks are mounted, don't know if they would work, so if I were too stretch it out you would need longer shocks, or change the shock angle, I put after market shocks and mounted them inside the chassis to eliminate the very bad suspension flex and chassis flex the stock 1/16 crawler has. I eliminated the flex by my mods, just not sure if I can stretch it out with out having drive train problems, because I threw in a brushless Novak 380 with a Novak Micro Pro esc, and had make my own motor mount and shave down the sides of the tranny to shoe horn the thing in the chassis, not sure if the gear mess will work or just strip out teeth on the gears, I have ran since the motor change but didn't load or bind the drive train, it might be ok but under load it might be bad and stretching it out could make even worse, but then I could four link it front and rear and get more articulation out of.

so any suggestions on stretching it would great, thanks

so JCplante did you stretch yours, how did you eliminate the flex, and if stretched did you use longer shocks or change how there mounted, curious of what mods you did, thanks

and where would I find longer links, cause there not 6mm like, Axial links and 6mm would be overkill, there more like 3mm if that, I can buy 8/32 all thread and 3/16 tubing and make my own links, but their almost 6mm, so not sure cause I looked at were they sell Exceed 1/16 Crawlers and there replacement links are no longer than the front and rear lower links, when I did my Scx10, I figured out how to get the wheel base I needed. so I just need different lengths links to get the correct wheelbase.

cause if I could find new drive shafts and figure out the shocks, and stretch it out too a 11.3'' wheelbase I could run this Scx10 short wheel base Scout body I have or could find another hard body and adjust the wheel base to fit.

Default looking for 9 inch wheelbase body

Im not sure how much i extended mine. I just made it fit the body i was using. I think the driveshafts look long enough but the track width i would think is off on a scx body. I wouldnt trust putting axle extenders on these axles. If you need link extensions i could make some for you if you want to trade something for them.

Hey Jcplante were did get the chassis, I got the stock Exceed chassis completely different form yours, that's why I asked if I need longer shocks and mount them differently then what I got now, cause your frame looks like a smaller version of a scx10 frame. With your frame being like a Scx10 then yes, you adjust the wheelbase, but mine being stock the shock angle would not be good. who makes your frame and how much was it.

I cut that myself out of 1/4 inch aluminum plate. Before i made it from aluminum i cut one out of a delrin cutting board from the dollar store tho. The delrin one worked fine i just made the aluminum one for looks mostly because the delrin one was white.

that's a nice frame, I can't make one of those, so guess I'm stuck with the stock wheel base, cause I don't think it will work cause of the shocks and the angle there mounted at. looked at a 1/10 exceed frame but, it like the 1/16 scale but bigger and longer, but again the drive shafts won't work and the axles are not wide enough for the 1/10 frame, so I don't know how to stretch it.
