Hey Jason, is it cool that I add this to the scale tips and tricks? This is a very cool trick, definitely has that realistic look for sure. Mike |

Good idea, but it can be done very easily with the same results using a Flat black testors paint pen. I did this on my Bronco and was amazed on how durable it is, I think the key was applying a few coats to the out side fenders. |

I had a pair of plyers that I put plasti-dip on about 12 years ago that I've had to re-dip 3 or 4 times. But they have been through the ringer, about 6 different states, 12 moves and used on everything from big rigs, tractors to horses and R/C's and every type of chemical spilt on them. It's good stuff when the area is preped good. BUT IT WILL NOT REPLACE POWDER COATING. Anyone need any PC done, I can hook you up. Cool aplication. Last edited by Double J; 10-23-2006 at 02:59 PM.

Cool thing about this stuff is that it remains flexible and can take a good bit of abuse. More than paint, anyway. I rolled a rig a few times with this on the body and it's doing ok. Quote:
Not everything NEEDS to be powdercoated. If it's something that'll see light-duty use and abuse this will be fine. And there's times that I know I'll do this 'cause I won't want to wait to have parts powdercoated. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 10-24-2006 at 09:45 PM.

What is this stuff like in terms of "rubbery-ness"? I've never used the spray-on stuff. Is it more of a hard, slick finish than a rubbery type coating?
