Hey Jason, is it cool that I add this to the scale tips and tricks? This is a very cool trick, definitely has that realistic look for sure.

Good idea, but it can be done very easily with the same results using a Flat black testors paint pen. I did this on my Bronco and was amazed on how durable it is, I think the key was applying a few coats to the out side fenders.

Sure, I don't beat it on the rocks, but it's still going strong.
With that said I also have an x-acto that I put vinyl around and it still looks new.
I had a pair of plyers that I put plasti-dip on about 12 years ago that I've had to re-dip 3 or 4 times. But they have been through the ringer, about 6 different states, 12 moves and used on everything from big rigs, tractors to horses and R/C's and every type of chemical spilt on them.

It's good stuff when the area is preped good.
BUT IT WILL NOT REPLACE POWDER COATING. Anyone need any PC done, I can hook you up.

Cool aplication.

Works for me.

Cool thing about this stuff is that it remains flexible and can take a good bit of abuse.

More than paint, anyway.

I rolled a rig a few times with this on the body and it's doing ok.

Depending on the application it'll replace powdercoating for me.

Not everything NEEDS to be powdercoated.

If it's something that'll see light-duty use and abuse this will be fine.

And there's times that I know I'll do this 'cause I won't want to wait to have parts powdercoated.

What is this stuff like in terms of "rubbery-ness"? I've never used the spray-on stuff. Is it more of a hard, slick finish than a rubbery type coating?
