| chrome paint
The question is simple: How do I use it? Procedure apparently impossible- I have tried over and over again to use chrome spraypaint but everytime I use it, it looks like normal silver paint. |

i use spazstick chrome, when sprayed under a clear body it shines chrome. if outside you have to cover it with clearcoat to get the glossy shine. what brand are you using?

Im not sure of the brand. But I have seen people spray clod axles, links, wheels, etc... and the chrome looks... well chrome! It looks like a mirror when they paint. |

most "chrome paint" isnt shiney, just silver colored, the good stuff has to have a high metal content. spazstix is one http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJLV7&P=ML and alclad is another http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...ProdID=ALC5114but you will have to cover them with a gloss clear coat to get the shine

stores like lowes wouldnt carry it right? Also, when you look at the cap from a can of spray paint, its the color of the paint...usually. So why is it that the cap from chrome paint is chrome like a mirror but once you actually use it, its silver. Maybe it needs to be applied on a certain way? I doubt it. The Alclad and Spazstix come in really small bottles that cost big bucks. You are only going to find them in hobbyshops, art supply stores and online most likely. | |

Although I haven't gotten to try the Spazstix paint I have used the Alclad in the jar for airbrushing. I was really pleased with the results. Really light coats and backing it up with a water based black is the ticket.

I have Alcad chrome in a spray can and the stuff is worthless. Looks gray at best.

the trick with spraying chrome onto a lexan shell is to always use very light coats and back it with black or it will look grey/silver antoni |

Ive used the spazsitx many times, and like the others say you have to use a good black backer to get it to shine. if your going to be paintting on the outside of wheels or axles, you will wan tto prime with the black then several light coats of the chrome then a good High gloss clearcoat. to really make it shine
