Default Copy rights?

Maybe Harley you might know about this. If one were to make some custom body panels with like Monster or NOS or Rockstar logos and try to sell them could you avoid infringement by not having the entire logo in one place? For instance the logo being split between panels a tad or jumping to different panels, like a Monster M that goes from the hood to the roof wouldn't be complete so is that infringement? Any real knowledge on this would be great thanks. If to risky I guess I will just make a bunch of cool ones for myself.

We were told by Monstet themselves that if we were to use their logo no matter what that we will be sued. I have talked to Monster personally about the situation and they said no.

Thanks jwalker, I knew it might be a bad idea to even tinker with, oh well I will post pics when I have some done for my own and maybe just get the templates to folks to make their own if they want.

I asked if I could use it on my own bodies for myself and they said that I could not cause only their drivers were the ones that have their logo. It don't make since cause we can buy their decals but I guess because money is going to them. If we do it for ourselves then it is free and no money will go to them. They watch the site so beware, you can thank whoever it was making money off their logo a while back lol.

You can use the logo all day long for your personal use, but as soon as you sell it you are in violation. RCC actually was issued a cease and desist from their parent company a few years ago. Even though we don't sell a thing they went after us because we were allowing vendors to sell.

Which is crazy because anytime u go on vacation tourist spots u see the energy drink logos on everything from clothes to hats and no one of them are licenses products. I'm sure most of the people who use the vinyl cutting machines for decal selling don't have rights to use the design

Well I am making Panels for my Wraith cage out of those new heavy duty aluminum Budweiser bottles and so far it looks sweet and the metal is easy to work yet tough enough not to rip, thought some monster cans would be fun and other brands, but I wont be selling them that's for sure. Thanks for the info peeps, will post pics when some are done

If you make panels out of Monster cans then they cannot say anything cause you bought their product from a supplier.

This, or what if it was one of the Associated SCT's with this decal set applied to it,or if you bought these decals and put it on a body before selling it

That's kinda what I was thinking, we'll see if they turn out good enough and if anyone shows interest in them I might try to sell a couple of complete kits for scorpion wraith bodies. Plus test em against the rocks to see how they hold up.

You're turning this into a feeler thread and we don't allow them unless you're a vendor.

Sorry EeePee and admins, I had no idea of this "feeler thread" I just wanted some facts and thoughts on my idea, I'm just a dude/dad who thought maybe people would want something cool out of my shed and maybe grab a buck or two, if any forum rules are in jeopardy by all means delete the whole thread and I apologize.
