| Best Jeep Wrangler body options?
I want to do a Jeep Wrangler body for my SCX10-II but before I start buying parts, I'd like to make sure I've looked at all the options. I'm looking to do something kind of like this Trailcat concept--2 door with a rollcage and a cloth soft top. Better even if it had some kind of interior. Aside from the Axial G6 body with rollcage parts, what are my options? Does anyone make soft tops for that body/cage? Last edited by Benbot; 05-18-2017 at 07:50 AM. |

You're going to be hard pressed to do that body in lexan because of the tube doors if you want to be 100% faithful to the prototype. Are you averse to a hard body? Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk |

I'm just using that as a general example--I have no intention of making a replica of it. I'm just looking for: 2 door Jeep Wrangler body tube rollcage with similar geometry to the Trailcat concept cloth top I'd like it to be an all-weather vehicle, so in rain or snow there is protection from the elements to the imaginary occupants. |

These are decent for a hard body. Easy to find and a little persistent searching can yield a good price. Jeep JK 2 DR They come either with the hard top or plastic roll cage and yellow or red. The tube doors would have to be fabbed but a cage can be bought. This roll cage is very close Roll Cage There are alot of these that have been built up. If you check the JK pic thread, you can see alot of ideas that may help with building. Show it off when you get going on it. This is gonna be awesome. |

Excellent, those are great options. I have a feeling I'm going to have to sew my own soft top, though. Maybe I can find some tent fabric somewhere.

The China JK is definitely the way to go. Material quality and scale detail are excellent...among the best of any hard body on the market. On the the version with the hardtop, the hardtop and doors are easily removable. There are a few people out there that make (or can make) roll cages, and there are several tube door options available on Shapeways. You'll probably be on your own for the top, but that shouldn't be too hard to make. Good luck!

Sorry to necro but in case it hasn't been seen by those who would want to see it.... Walmart, $89. It's large, would look a little odd on 1.9s, but a hacked Wraith under it would be awesome. |
