Default removing paint from hard body

This pertains to scale builds since comp tlt's rarely use a hard body so, mods, move if necessary. I've looked but i can't find a thread with any good info. What do you all use to strip paint from a hard body? I have tried a few things including brake fluid, all with less than satisfactory results until now. What i found at the lhs was this stuff called Scalecoat II ($9.95 per pint). Holy s#it!!! this stuff works way fast and does the cleanest job of removing paint. It is specifically designed to remove paint from plastics and can be reused. Definately worth the money in my eyes. I stripped the paint off two bruiser cabs and a bed in less than an hour. This included finding a ziplock big enough, swapping parts out one at a time and scrubbing with a brush lightly to remove the stubborn spots, rinsing with hot water and cleaning them with soapy water to make sure they were squeaky clean. Completely done all ready to repaint! Just thought i'd share and hopefully help some of you out.

The brake fluid technique worked for me, I stripped a Jugg body with about thirty layers of paint in a day with some DOT4.

I have always used "castrol super clean and degreaser" or AKA purple power...but lately it doesnt seem to be working as good, the color of the stuff changed and I think they may have changed the formula.

Dean, Im going to copy this thread this into the paint and body work section, I think its a good place for it too this way when people search I think that forum would be the best place to go

This should clear up any confusion, it seems that this guy makes models and any of you that are familiar with model brands should adapt to this writeup pretty well, if not the guy says which chemicals to stay away from. Here you go:http://www.ndrr.com/rmr_faq/Models/Paint-Stripping.htm
oh BTW for acrylic: OXICLEAN and warm water works pretty well too. sounds kind of nuts but it works.

X2 on the Easy-Off. Be sure to get the yellow label, with all the toxic fumes.

Default Wish I would have known

Wish I would have known this about 4 years ago. I tried to take paint off of a Tamiya jeep wrangler hard body(extremly rare and expensive when you do find them). I was told I could use Decal and Paint remover in an aerosol can. WRONG ANSWER. I had to scrap the whole thing. Talk about a hard lesson learned.
