Default Switching from jeep body to truck body, body post issues..

This may be hard to explain without pictures, but I my photobucket is down. So I'm switching my SCX10 II Cherokee body to a Proline SR5. I'm gonna switch to a magnet system. Now, my problem is obviously the rear body posts are way too long for a truck bed. I got some shorter ones to fit my box. With the posts all the way down and my magnet assembly installed, the body is WAY to high. If I remove the magnet assembly and just sit the body on top of the posts, the height is fine. Are truck beds just not meant for magnet? Or should they be used somewhere else like the side of the bed? Now, I glued the magnet directly to the top of the post, and I'll see if that works. What else could I try?
Also, is there a trick to glueing magnets to the body? How do you line it up perfectly? Should I put the magnets on the truck with glue then just drop the body on where I want it and wait 24h to dry?
Thanks in advance

Bro that's exactly what I was going to post!!! Well done, tiny truck salute!

But yeah to the OP, custom work! Not everything is an bolt on affair. Gotta get creative. I'm in exactly the same boat as you right now, need to figure out how to mount my jconcepts 79 ford body on my vaterra ascender. Customize it! Fab, cut, glue, dremel, magnet, milkshake!!!

I watched that video. Helpfull for the magnets, not so much for the bed. I'm thinking about just saying f*** the magnets and just use regular body posts

Forget about using the SCX10 body posts and make a mount that goes across the two shock hoops. Then you can attach the magnets to that mount. This will allow you to bring the bed of the body all the way down to just above the top of the shock mounts if you want to.
