| spatz ?
Anyone used the spatz spray bombs color change paint? Do you gota use the pre-coat? I bombed out a body as suggested according to the instructions. As soon as I sprayed the base coat I saw what looked like tiny air bubbles. I was kinda pissed but what like fawk-it, I still have another body to paint and this is just an RC body I plan to hack and bash anyway. The color did turn out real nice, when it's dry I'll snap a few pic's in the sun tomorrow. Also can you use other paint to back it or does it have to be spatz? |

Are you talking about spaz stix color change paint? What do you mean bomb? If this is the paint you are using than I would recommend using parma fascoat as a backing and do not use the black backer spaz stix offers. You need to apply this paint in very thin layers or air could get trapped. Spray once let it sit for 15 minutes and spray again. The colder it is the longer you need to wait. Temperature is very important when working with this paint. The cans seem to spray too fast so an airbrush is recommended. |

I agree with him ^. Make sure and clean the body with soap and water, spray in room temps, multiple thin layers with plenty of time to dry inbetween, and back with whatever you want. I personally havent had any problems backing it with spazstix paints.

i have used spaz paints in jar and can and these ^suggestions are correct and pretty much all necesssary as for backing either will work but the key items are temp, light coats, and adequate drying time... just my 2 cents

I used it and washed/prepped and sanded the body with scotch brite. several light coats and spaz tic backing looked awsome untill I hit the rocks. It didnt stay on the truck for long. I will never use it again.

Spaz stix paint in the spray can (bomb) They say on the instructions spray till it runs out in one go. My next paint job will be sprayed the old way Like I've always done. Scuff, wash, dry, paint in many light coats. But I got some pictures of the Body. Need some better day light pic's to see the real effect but here's a couple: It's the multi-color spaz stix paint blue purple and red I believe. I backed it with many coats of Grape Pearl, then backed that with Silver. It Looks purple in the sun, blue in the shadow, and red on the brighter glare or angle side.
