Is there a type of paint that would last longer on the lower links that get scrapped along the rocks?

Powder coat would be the most durable, but any paint is going to eventually get scraped off if you're using the rig the way its intended to be used. I've seen a lot of guys on Instagram using Cerakote now too. Not sure how much, if any, more durable it is than powder coat though.

I really can't see any type of painting holding up to the abuse the links take out on the rocks. I run stainless steel lower links on all of my rigs so that I don't have to worry about the paint. Also, stainless slides very well over rocks and does not get gouged as easily as other link materials do. |
