| Elmer's glue instead of liquid mask.
Who's done it? And does it work?

Liquid mask stays fairly pliable/ flexible after it dries... making cuts pretty easy with an xacto. Elmer's dries much more rigid and especially in thicker areas, may not cut as easily. Add to that, regular Elmer's becomes more brittle after drying... cracks easier and lifts easier. Maybe using Elmer's in a pinch as long as the masked/ graphic/ cutting area isn't too intricate... might work. But I'd steer clear of it in most cases.

Lexan bodies (especially crawler bodies) are getting expensive, easily 50-60. Don't risk ruining a body or spending hours trying to correct it just to save a few bucks.

Yes Elmers, or any of the white glue variants work, but as stated are brittle, so they work on hard surfaces, primarily for long cuts. Stick with the flexible ones on lexan. Where they can work well, is to repair tape lines in inside corners for example. Another tool , but I’ll stick with Bitty. Hang up and Drive |

I wanna see somebody spray a body with Elmer's and then try to peel it off... I don't know if it'll work, but I'd be shocked if it does. EDIT: Quote:

The paint holds it together, it works poorly as it won’t hold an edge with any radius.....better as a patch, although I do paint bitty over tape that needs extra cover Aileens tacky works better Hang up and Drive |

| Re: Elmer's glue instead of liquid mask. Interesting. It makes sense that it doesn't hold clean edges.
