Default Bushwacker Body Defect?

This question is for those of you who actually own a Bushwacker body. Do they all have that defect at the left side rear corner window and along the back roof edge where it looks like the mold process left some extra thick lexan? Almost looks like a big "wet paint drip". I have purchased two bodies so far and both have it. I noticed one of the photos on here have it as well.

Even most of the original FJ bodies had the runs, I have one that it is barely noticable. That was the first thing I noticed they kept when it became the Wacker.

Mine too. Mine "drips" the whole left rear corner window, through the top of the back rear window and again through right rear corner window. Didn't notice it before, guess mine will go Topless.

My body arrived bout a week ago, it has the same runs above and through the rear corner windows. Why would proline not have fixed this prob by now? I have not painted it yet. How noticeable will the runs show up after i paint it. ... how common are the "runs" with custom r/c bodies... er just a WACKER thing.

I had a lid on my savage ( i forgot the name, it was a crowd pleazer 2.0 suv/station wagon thing) and these ones had a really nasty one right on the windshield.. When these 1st come out, they were a hot body to have in my area, and all the ones I seen had it.
I dont know why proline wouldnt correct that. You would think it would be a pretty easy fix on a mold, but who knows..

I hate you. I have a Bushwacker sitting on the shelf and I just noticed the defect. Mine has it on both rear corner windows.

I had an original FJ that also had the same problem. Maybe Pro-Line will listen and fix the problem.

Pretty much every proline lid i have ever bought has had at least one defect. Plus the corners are so freakin thick that i have ruined a couple pairs of lexan scissors, but they are super thin in other spots. My kid has a proline h2 lid on his pede and when i went to put the holes in it for the body posts (with a reamer) all it did was tear the body since it was paper thin. I like HPI bodies better. Thinner, way more uniform thickness, and alot less defects, too bad they have a pretty weak selection.

I agree, the HPI bodies are better, and I wish they did have a bigger selection of bodies for us crawlers, although thank goodness they make the Rubicon and Bronco, two great scale bodies.

Same problem here in the UK. Had two of them personally and another three/four in the shop and all have the same drip on RR left corner

There will be a cost factor in reworking a mold, and they will look at machine downtime, labour, material and any other cost, then 100% first batch inspection and overall on this it might not even be the mold. they would have to look at the roll of lexan as there could be a pattern flaw in the roll itself and with the size of rolls that these companies would use and the cost of a roll, they wouldn't waste there time doing a process like this
for the overall cost of a body. Although the customer is/should be the number one priority they would look at there sales to complaints and i would bet there is actually very little complaints followed all the way through to there quality department.

just my thoughts on this

cheers

Thumbs down

Well I had to go check my old FJ body just to see and sure enough it has the same run as the bushwacker described. Been in the bag in a cabnet for a few years, never saw it. Mad at that, lol.
