i think you could use easy-off oven cleaner, get the blue can first and test it, if not get the yellow can.

i just use automotive primer. or you can get a rustoleum primer specifically for plastics. i havent really seen a difference in adhesion.

forget the blue can, easy off yellow, works great. heres how i do it, get a nice thick contractor grade trash bag, place body in bag, soak down body with easy off, close bag off, set in the sun. check it in 12 hours, spray more easy off, repeat until paint is gone. also helps if you rub with a stiff nylon bristle brush, or even a hard toothbrush. just dont give it back when your done. other people have said a wire brush but i'm not taking that chance!

I use the yellow can,It my take a few coats depend on how many paint jobs it has had.

Then I use a old tooth brush and warm soapy water.
