| Any ideas on how to strip paint?
And yes I did search but did not come up with any good answers. I dont want to use oven cleaner and dont know of any other ways. It looks like I painted the body 3 or 4 times. I have had it for over 10 years so I dont remember exactly how many times I painted it. The body is kinda rough, I might just do it the old fashioned way. try paint thinner or brake cleaner. I used gasket remover for my tuber but I think that will melt your plastic. |

80 grit and a rotary sander, it'll get it off.

Sand blast it. I did it on my clod took the paint right off and left a smooth paintable surface. |

^^ x2 I seen these little setups at harborfreight. They looked like little airbrush kits but they were for sandblasting. I think they were in the range of $20 or so.

I wouldn't recommend brake cleaner. It will more than likely eat into the plastic and make it sticky. I know you said you didn't want to, but oven cleaner seems to work the best.

use brake fluid to just wipe the paint off. Search for Brake Fluid. |

I want to use it if I can clean it up some. I might try that. I have a sandblaster and 2 five gallon buckets full of sand. | |

Easy-off is easy man. It comes off in seconds. Just rinse with warm water and an old toothbrush. I stripped the chrome off my clodbuster wheels in about 5 mins.

Then, if you want the surface to be like glass, blast it with Corn Starch. It may look like it is'nt doing anything but it is if the air PSI is high enough. 140 Psi works well with corn starch. Renslipevol, he has an exploritive Daughter, he does'nt want chemicals. |

Thanks for the help. I started sanding by hand because I have not had time to use the sandblaster. I am not going to use chemicals because my daughter is moving things around constantly and loves my trucks. Here is my progress so far. |

I ended up using some cheap oven cleaner I found at the dollar store, my daughter is at grandma's house. It seems to be working pretty good. I am on my third overnight application and its coming off very well. Thanks for the help everyone.

More progress pics. The oven cleaner worked pretty good but I still had some areas that would not strip. I got out the good old sandpaper and went to work. More pics when I do more body work. I am going to fill the holes in the hood and make some wheel wells. |
