| Another FJC body I havent seen on here yet
I went out and picked up the 1:10 New Bright FJ Cruiser "Rockcrawler" RC toy at ToysRus tonight. I plan on using it on possibly an axial ax10 chassis. My main reason for picking it up, is Im making a semi replica of my 1:1 rig, and the toy has the same aftermarket front bumper I have on my truck The bumper is made by all-pro offroad, I thought it was pretty slick to find it on a scale body my rig: and the New bright version: |

I saw those. They are more like 1:18. There is a much bigger version tho...that is 1:10.

So - what all have you done to the FJ?? What type of suspension/axles do they come with stock? They are'nt solid axles are they? Ahhh, a little quick research shows it's a 4-linked solid rear axle. Independant A-arms up front though. Looks like it sits on a frame so perhaps some body lift is possible? (I was afraid it would be a unibody like a Honda Ridgeline. I love the look of a Ridgeline, and I'm a die-hard Honda freak, but the Ridgeline is not modifiable enough for me. You can't body-lift a rig if the body and frame are integrated) I wonder how much you can lift the suspension on an FJ w/o tearing the whole thing down and re-designing it? |

Toys R' Us also has the Nikko one which does not have the light bar on the roof... I am glad you picked up the New Bright one and was able to do measurements... The new brights are stacked so high at our local store I couldn't tell... I did find some of the blue ones which are 1:10 at uBid as well as ebay... Last edited by WVB; 08-23-2007 at 01:41 PM. | |

I really like your FJ! I think someone should do a scale build of the ultimate adventure FJ from last year.

You have a nice looking truck Rtrac1. That second pic is sweet. I've really taken a liking to these rigs lately. I love how they look totally modern, even a little "futuristic", yet the heritage is obvious. It is encouraging to see that they can be modified to do some serious off roading. Now the green one looks off the hook. Looks like a substantial investment though... |

Rtrac, I had time to watch your video finally - and I have to say it is very refreshing to see someone doing something with an FJC other than fetching groceries!! Nice!!!
