| Window Tint?
Have any of you ever used Pactra Window tint. I am about to get a new crawler body and a new body for my drifter so I was just wondering if it actually looked like tint or would black paint be just as good. Thanks guys.

I used the Pactra window tint on my Rubicon. Multiple coats, but, VERY light coats. When you think it's still to light, you should be done. When its on the vehicle, it'll look darker. Enjoy.

Thanks a lot guys! Good info. I got to thinking after I posted that I could probably get a cheap sunstrip at Wally World and that would be enough tint for an rc. Probably about the same price as Pactra if not cheaper.

You can use Future floor polish on your windows to tint them. Just add food coloring to the future. Or you can just add pure future to your windows to make them have some depth and look like real windows

I have a HPI Bronco body that I bought already done and it has car 1:1 window tint on it. It looks OK, they got a sag / crease in the front windshield though. I think painting it might be easier, and it will not scratch as easy as window film tint will.

Tamiya has a smoke color paint that worked great for me. I actually ended up a little darker than I wanted. Just gotta go really light on it. As was posted before, when you think it's still too light, you're done. Two light coats should look pretty good. Test it on a piece of scrap lexan if you have it. |

| Yeah. Learnt that trick when I was building scale models. The airplane guys use it on their canopy's to make the windows more realistic. Its not just good for windows. It makes a great, hard, shiny finish on bodys. And if it scrathes up and you dont like it, future can be taken off with windex, then reapplied. Here's a link to what I found to be useful. http://www.swannysmodels.com/TheCompleteFuture.html |

No prob. You could probably pour the stuff on a body and it would still look good.
