Default Scale Body Mounts

I need ideas on what to make (mounts) to fit a scale body (Jeep Wrangler) on a comp. rig without drilling holes in the shell of the body

Anyone?

Try using industrial velcro..

there are a number of pics floating around the site with body mounts like that.

Somebody tried neodym magnets yet? Although they are very small they are pretty strong... maybe this would be another method to try!

magnets usually have very little side to side holding, ie the slide on each other MUCH easier than they pull apart

ie you cant put a 150 lb magnet on a metal table and you cant lift it off, but it will slide off fairily easily

To keep the sliding in check you could make some kind of box or something for the opposite side magnet to fit in. Kinda gets too complicated at that point though. I like the ones I've seen that were hinged at the back and a normal fastening type at the front like velcro.

I like using screws. I've done it both were I added attachments at the front and back of the body to screw the body on through the bumpers (which looks fairly scale as a great number of truck bumpers have large bolts through them, and I've done it by cutting the tops of the body posts so they're flat, drilling vertical holes into them and screwing the body in that way.

i made "decks" where my velcro would attach the body at its pivot points.

i rigged this up using the standard aftermarket body mount kit. instead of using the collars to keep the body in place with the clips, i used shoe goo to mount the collars to the inside of body. i beveled them a bit, and also the ends of the body posts. they kind of press fit together nicely and stay put without problems while wheeling.
