maybe you could cut one peice of lexan to fit the hole and a bigger peice to glue behind the smaller peice to hold it in place. whats is the body for?

try using epoxy with a lot of micro baloons filler. If you use enough of the filler in the epoxy it will sand almost like bass wood. it should be about the thickness of moist sand before it dries.

I've filled in holes before,( if its a nice body ) by cutting 1"x1" small lexan pieces ,then painting them the same color as the body,( around the hole your trying to fill ) and just glueing them to the underside, then put a piece of "duct" tape over it for the final touch.. works sweet.., Never had a problem before doing it that way..! |

The last holes I filled came out pretty well. I used Elmers Glue, Wax paper & Scotch tape. I cut out the wax paper to just barely cover each hole and taped it on from the outside ensuring it was smooth and as flat of a fit as possible. From the underside I poured in a little elmers glue making sure to not have any bubbles. if you get bubbles, dig them out with a toothpick or pop them with a pin. After 12 hours I peeled off the tape (wax paper as well) and had a nice smooth finish, no sanding necessary. If you leave the glue thin enough, you can probably just paint the underside. I ended up dabbing a little paint on the outside though and it looks pretty good. You can't see the holes unless you are really, really close. (the patch holes are about 1" behind the body posts) |
