I don't remember it being as difficult as described below for the well prepared vehicles, but I do believe we had an axle breakage that day in a fairly stock Bronco.

From the fordyce site:

The Fordyce Trail is located at the Eagle Lakes turn off on Highway I-80.

The Fordyce Trail is very difficult. Only well equiped rigs should attempt it. The trail should never be run alone.

There are five "Winch Hills" and three water crossings on the trail. There is an additional water crossing when taking the "cut out" to the Committee Road. All five hills have their own particular difficult aspects and you should be prepared ahead of time with the knowledge of those features. The water crossings can be very hazardous in times of increased water release from the dam. Check the link below for the latest projections and gather knowledge of the proper "lines" to take while crossing.

Someone in your group should have run the trail at least once before.

Make sure you carry adequate food, water and clothing for changing trail and weather conditions or in the event of a break down that requires you to spend more time on the trail than you anticipated.

There are a lot of trails for adventure and most are accessable straight out of the campground.

We are leaving the 1:1 trail runs up the the individuals, but I'm sure there will be some late night runs as we have seen in the past.

Just remember, the campgrounds are very OHV friendly, so respect their campground regulations on speed and dust.

We want everyone to have as much fun as possible, whether your clothes are on or off.

If any one has not reserved a camp site I have the secret honey hole campsite at eagle lakes exit. 20 mins from the freeway. 40 mins if the river if high. 4x4 may or may not be required. Primitive camp on the river very close to waterfall and start of the fordyce trail. I made it in and out a few times in my ford focus and across the river. Pm me for details.

So I think I've resolved my plans to sleeping in the car. Hoping to bum a spot with James or Tim.

This will be really only my second real comp outside of HT (sad...yes I know) Any suggestions on what to pack and bring up for the trip?
