Guys,
I just got off the phone with Motorama.

We need to get these registration numbers up quickly. we have two weeks (February 5th) before they cut this off.

There will be discounts for Judges and Marshalls but cannot discuss that until we have more people registered.

I am really embarrassed with the fact that I have NicoDrive coming from Switzerland to this awesome event and can't others from surrounding States to sign up.

For the ones that I have talked to that said they are coming...PLEEEEAASE register this week and post up when you do.

If you don't have the money, just sign up for one class and I will settle up with you on the others at the event.

Thanks for understanding and looking forward to another incredible Motorama weekend.

John
i need to get some funds in hand before i pull the trigger , but if we have to register this week then count me out ... i think the problem i am having with this is that i do not want to comp on a dirt floor and deal with dusty rocks again for the 3rd year in a row ... 1st year was mud and water and 2nd year was terrible dusty rocks to the point it hurt to breath in and sleep ,and that is what it will be like this year i think so if i can get the funds and it is not to late (before Feb 5th)i will sign up but not till then ...thanks

I know that the rock conditions have been a challenge in the past. I am sure that they have learned from their past problems.

you would hope so but the comp area is still going to be on a dirt floor so there goes the dust issue again...also we need to ask where is the pit space going to be that was never addressed either ,i hope it is not on the dirt floor because that there will stir up dust like crazy ... sorry i am just weighing this thing out right now and thinking of my past experience ... don't get me wrong the event is awesome but i think motorama could work closer with john to help him out and make the event better than the last few ,they have a whole year to plan and it always seems to be the same every time..

I just got off the phone with Motorama...

If the registrations don't increase to the level of last year by Friday, they are cancelling the RC Crawling event for this year and refunding the money.

Guys,
They are serious. Let's not let this die. This is a great venue and event. Have we had less than perfect conditions in the past, possible but the alternative is snow. I have worked tirelessly on trying to make this one of the best events of the year for the East Coast Crawlers but now it's up to you.

NicoDrive felt that it was a worth while event to travel from Switerland for.

So what do you say??? It is up to all of you.

John i know this is your "baby" but if this does not fly you can always hold it at the crawl space and it would be way better condition than motorama anyways , it would only take a little work to make the courses a little more challenging but be a lot cleaner ...just saying but i will not be signing up until the end of the month or very close to the dead line ...good luck my friend

i would be there for that for sure ...hey if you need fast cars and big trucks then just ask some of the locals to show off what they got , but if the people at motorama are pulling this and are not willing to help out the situation on the area and the rocks then i personally would rather comp at the crawl space ...shoot you could cut the admission in half and still feed us , then we can always find a nice restaurant that night after the comp ...plus it would cost less for everyone too...

Ugh, I have been looking forward to this since ECC. I am really disapointed with the lack of turnout.

I agree. I wish more would sign up. I totally understand the expense is probably hurting a lot of folks, though.

Same here ..... gotten more practice in the last 2 months then I think I put in last year

Dont know much about conditions of the rocks but from all the videos Ive seen on Youtube it looked pretty clean to me.

Hate to see this die but I got the weekend off already and wanna crawl some where

Hope the numbers climb for us and everyone who puts in their personal time setting everything up.

...expecially since this is the closest 'big' event us New Englanders get to see. ........

i was going to sign up last minute due to funds being short (laid off for winter) if this doesn't work out you can all comp at my house. pretty awesome course and free to use, i have 0 overhead - we can do it in the spring just a few months away. ask some of the guys from the pa and jersey clubs what its like here. hope it doesn't go south on you john, i know you put everything into this to make it the best it can be. there may be alternatives if in fact it doesn't fly.
i think all the crawler guys understand what you do for us and to promote the hobby.

WOW !!!

It would really suck if we lose this comp. I know myself and a few others were going out early to help John (Rckrwlr) set up. I know I was going to make sure the rocks were clean. even If I had to use a brush and a bottle of simple green on each rock. It's a unique event and it is probably the most exposure our hobby gets to the outside world due to the venue it is attached to. SIGN UP PEOPLE!!!! Besides we lose this comp we may not have anymore besides ECC since Battlegrounds is up in the air.

I want to go, but am waiting for others from my area to sign up. Can't afford this by myself. And now I'm even more hesitant to sign up and risk losing money.

I can honestly say I would have signed up a lot sooner had I seen more then one person with just a push broom attempting to clean off the rocks last year.

Scold me if you must for my opinion, but I can only go off what I saw.
