Modellbahn Ott Hobbies Scaler Course - Gilbertsville

I just wanted to spread the word that there has been a bunch of hard work going on at the track at Modellbahn Ott Hobbies in Gilbertsville, PA. There will be an improved off-road track and a scaler course. Over a month of hard work has already been put into the scaler course. As you can see in the photos below, there is a nice variety of terrain and obstacles. There are hill climbs, rock sections, cool and fun bridges, and more. Personally, I had a blast at the track. It is also a great place for kids to try out scaling. I took my seven year old cousin there for his first try at scaling. He had the best time and asked when we could go back. The good news is that the course will only get better next year when the weather is more cooperative and the work resumes. But we are still getting some warm days so be sure to stop in and check out the track.

Bill Ott, the owner of Modellbahn Ott's, has started stocking Axial kits and RTR's as well as parts and accessories from Axial, Integy, Pro-Line, RC4WD, STRC, and more. He also stocks a vast selection of Traxxas RTRs and parts. Bill also has a lot of stuff for helicopters, planes, and trains if you are into those hobbies.

I want to thank the guys from the Crawling Touch RC club for all of their hard work. They are responsible for building the scaler course and the start of the new off-road track along with the help of Bill.

Your cousin is a natural...... He did very well for his first time and looking forward for him to come back agian. He sure did like that Jeep. Did you even get to run it at all?

It will be a long time before anyone makes money on this area. The owner Bill has big money invested here with driver stand, permits, scoring system, and all the little things. The machine rental for the last change was $400 with fuel and all. I have used my personal equipment and paid my employees to help out when we had time, other members have time and money invested. We just want a place for all to come that have a common interest and have fun. More to come next season for sure, hope to see you there.

x2 what pat said .... not looking for anything but to have fun get other people into the hobby .....and help out a local hobby shop since there arent that many any more........and all of the above seems to be getting acomplished so trail on!....hehehe

First off I am glad that a local shop is willing to have an area like this. It will only increase the visibility of the sport and it will be nice to have a local shop that will carry some things that we all can use or need. With more interest more activities and events can be done. I look forward to working with the guys that have started a good thing over at Modellbahn Ott Hobbies. Keep up the good work guys. I think it would be in both clubs best interest to work together since we are in the same area.

The course and track are saturated at this time. Hope to get some good weather to dry this up.
