| PTI driveshaft help
So yesterday I was out climbing some rocks and broke both rear lower links. I have replaced them with some beefy Traxxas links that are just slightly longer than stock. Once I got my pinion angle correct I found that my driveshaft is just a little too short. Is there an easy fix or replacement for this? What are you guys doing that have modified the wheelbase? Here are some pics.. |

Shorten the lower links should solve it.

That would be the easy way....the stock lower links are just weak, I wanted to beef up the suspension a little.

Keep the same strong links just shorten them allittle to get the cvd ti sit deeper in the stub axle. Also if you shorten the lowers allittle it will rotate the axle back to stock so it has less angle on the cvd. I upgraded mine to but kept the same length.

You can shorten them by unscrewing the ballends and cutting a few mm off each side. Screw a nut on before cutting so that it "rethreads" the link when you take it off. You can also convert the CVD to Traxxas Maxx shafts. Search on here for the how to. |

Did that tonight, had to dremel out the ballend a little to account for the beefy link, but it looks like the driveshaft is fine now. | |
