Default stage 2 on a more comp worthy set of pti axels

well finally had a day off so i started to work on making a stronger ring gear i finally decided to cut my tlt spool apart so i just had the ring gear left from there i realized that it wont fit in the pti axel houseing it is to large but i did find a way to make it fit (i dont own a lathe which would have been nice there) so i just chucked it up and the drill press and held a file to it untill i got it the same size or just a lil smaller the the plastic pti gear then i had to drill the holes in the tlt ring gear i used a 3/32" drill bit for this i lined up the holes from the pti gear and started to drill i will post pics up tomarrow just wanted to start the thread tonight i dont have pics of the whole process just the start and the finished product so if anyone wants to kno more about this pm me and i will send a better detailed explaintion of how this is all done

I was thinking of doing the same thing. I'd really like to see your results. I started looking for alternative ring gears as well. I think I might have a few leads. Also you might want to check out this website.

I'm going to see if I can find a gear set that will match the PTI ones. I'll be sure to let everyone know if I find anything.

I am going to bed now and when I wake up there better be pics and test results. If this is going to work, I need to know if I should buy stock pti parts or some, ughh, tlt parts. Glad some one is trying to find a better R&P for the goliath.

How much material did you remove from the outer circumference of the gear? And how does it mate up with the pinion?

as i said i removed from the tlt ring gear to make it the same size as the pti gear i dont kno the exact amount but if you have a pti gear then you will kno when it fits

and for the 2nd question it fits a lil tight bc the tlt ring gear is thicker then the pti's but its not to tight that it will mess up the gear from that i am told

and thanks k_b i try and i hope tihs will help many other ppl with the pti prob i have
