Rally Tracks! Here in Colorado we have several rally tracks popping up all over the place. How about everyone posts a couple photos of their tracks so we have a good source for track layouts and ideas. Feel free to include location, track details and anything special/cool about your track. Just thinking about getting a rally. Once my buddy drops off his bobcat I'll get to work on a track. Do you guys prefer one like a regular type track or one that you have to follow the vehicle? I've got a 1/4 acre lot to work with. Several trees around the perimiter. I do enough walking at g6's so I'm leaning towards standing on milk crates lol From my phone using my fingers. |

Re: Rally Tracks! How do you guys get rid of the grass? I've got a couple of large fields around here that I can use...to a point. Can't haul in any large equipment so I need to get the grass gone without a backhoe or bobcat. |

1. Shave of the top layer of rocks, grass and roots with a shovel. 2. Fill it in with clean dirt. Add water if possible. Pack it down as best you can. 3. Use Ground Clear or some other "kill everything":lmao: weed killer once a year. 4. Drive on it A LOT. The more you drive on it, the less weeds to pick "thumbsup" If you have a supply of water near by its a BIG help. If it's a dusty track it helps to soak it a couple hours or the day before you run. It does, but it is all worth it. The Hoon470 track in Morrison Colorado (which underwent another remodel) was built the same as Basic mods said. When the track was first built though I used a weed wacker and shaved the grass down to the dirt. That helped a lot and was pretty quick. Another way to do it too is to dig up the grass and flip it upside down. That will keep the grass out for a long time. After that drive it a ton, walk it, drag your feet on it, spin a motorcycle tire on it, anything works to kill the grass. |
