| Hey Guys, Brand new to crawling. I was in my LHS one night talking to the guys and said, I'm going to build a crawler. They looked at me as if I was crazy until I started buying all the parts that I needed. I received an AX10 body for free so I decided to use that as the grounds to build my chassis. The chassis is custom built with 3/16" steel rod and brazed that fits perfectly within the body. I decided to go big or go home, so I bought almost everything new. Here's what I built... MOA Bully V4 CNC axles. ( special edition?) Integy 55 turn motors. Hobbico CS-170 - 250 oz-in steering servo Revo Shocks - Waaay too stiff. These definitely need to be changed. Limits the articulation and it's killing me. 2 Traxxas XL -5's. I don't think these were the best idea, next time I'm definitely going to get tunable ESC's so I can change the throttle curve etc. Losi rims with Rock Claws I don't seem to have enough wheel speed and will have to look into seeing if its the motors just not producing enough, or the esc. On a side note, it has an amazing amount of torque though, I pushed around about an 8-10 pound rock at the last comp when trying to get through one of the courses. And the pictures.. lmk what you think! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
