Default Yep, another Beetle Juice. The Beetle Bully

Heres the start of it. Working on the skins. I have a .025 sheet of carbon fibre for them that should turn out pretty cool. Stock Bully rtr electrics that are doing ok for me for now. Need dig pretty bad though. Stock shocks as well. Going to change them out with losi's or axials. Havnt decided yet. These are too stiff and slow for such a light chassis. I bet this thing wieghs half as much as it used to. New Swampers for tires that I like the hell out of. Damn sticky.

Light wieght aluminum front axle tubes and looking to get the delrin tubes for the rear soon, along with R7R high clearance steering and servo mount and T1E high clearance rear links are on the way.

I think I need longer upper links to clock the motors up more. 'Bout the only thing that hangs up now. This thing straight crawls, even not setup well as of yet. Cant wait to see what it will do when it is.

I just slapped the electrics in to check it out. Ive already layed the shocks down more and spent a couple hours getting everything stuffed inside and looking cleaner.

Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys
Dustin

It looks good Mr. Kilmeister! Maybe instead of swapping the shocks, you can simply drill out the pistons.

You're gonna love the R7R steering setup!

They are 5.4 advertised and just a hair shorter than the x crawlers. Opened up my shocks and BLAM! no oil whatsoever. Gonna slick everything up and put some 20 wt i think and some softer springs. The bottom of the shock that unscrews and has the shaft running through it on a couple of them is "sticky" or drags slower than others. is there anything that will slick it up a bit to make it smoother. I have the cow rc silicon spray that I think I should spray on them before runs maybe.

Sorry to ramble just looking for advice.

thanks
D

Best way to fill shocks is to test that it donīt jam in the end. And second is to watch your repound. You donīt want too much repound. If you think you have too much repound take a little oil off the shocks.

Hope you understand me.

Electrics all hidden away and basic black for the skins. Rebuilt the shocks with 20wt. they are still really slow on the rebound but im going to try it for a while.

OH NO NOT ANOTHER ONE.

Looks good, I like the panels too.
Can I ask why you only put 1/2 to 3/4 full of oil in your shocks.

Thanks guys, I put about 3/4 full in because they will get to a point where they wont compress any more, or bottom out but they wont be at the bottom. Basically leaving room for the plunger and disc to move in. That oil wont compress.

I fill mine. They move through out their whole cycle freely. A shock displaces the oil through the piston. The oil and air mixture can make for a inconstant travel of the shock.

Yup. Fill'm. Work the piston a few times to get the air out before you put the cap on.
