Default lose that butt

I've got a 2.2 cast rear Bully axle that needs to lose a little weight. Whats the best way to do this? (light weight tubes or light weight gear case??). I don't won't to run a lot of weight on the plastic RC4wd rims. I haven't stripped them yet (knocking on wood).

If you can't do both go with the case. It'll keep the heavier parts (axle tubes) in a lower area.

I couldn't find the rear tubes, I did find the case. A little more than what I want to pay .

Default Lighter

Chop the triangular part of the gear case off of the motor. Turn the tubes down to 1/2''. Radius all the sharp parts of the case. Drill the gears out. Still won't be as light as delrin tubes and the light weight case. It won't cost 100 dollars either. If you need pictures there are plenty of them in the stickys. I hope this helps

You can save a good bit with a grinder and drill but not as much as changing out to a few light weight parts. If you want to try grinding/drilling look for the threads Krakker has done. I think his are the most aggressive mods on here.

Yes, his mods are awesome and quite aggressive.

Have a look at my MR Creepy2 thread. Little bit less gain but very easy to achieve.

But for the money go and see Krakkers threads. It's worth it!!!

I did a good bit of work to my axles and it seemed to lighten them quite a bit. I am running the LW tubes with heavy center.

my build is pretty slow but I have gotten some goodies coming soon.
