| Setup help rc bully
Hi guys got a ready to run bully. Having trouble getting it to climb up steep rocks, keeps flipping back no matter how slow fast or angle I take it at. I know they can do it I seen them on youtube. It is as stock as they come so I was thinking of getting better tires? Also I think because of there weight it makes it harder to climb so I was going to do some shaving of the axle tubes on the lathe and demel the gear Boxes to lose weight? Is this what I should be doing or is there something else I can do help rhis climb better? Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 4 Beta |

Adjust the center of gravity by putting about 4 Oz of lead inside of each front wheel also get your rear upper links at the chassis as high as you can.

Moved the links on the rear to the highest at the chassis and straight away i notice the difference! didnt tip over no where as easy as it did before.Still couldnt get it to climb the rock but i think it is more of a tire issue now because they just wouldn't get any grip! what weight shock oil do you recommmend? Also it seemed that when i was trying to climb the rock there didnt seem to be much drive if any at the rear not sure if this is because of the rocker dig unit i am using but next test i will disconnect the rocker just to seem if there is anymore drive at the rear when trying to climb the rock. Have attach a picture of the rock in my front yard that i am trying to climb. tell me if i am asking to much of this crawler to be able to climb this rock? That is very steep! If you put a 45 degree shaped wedge about 4 inches tall to get the rear tire above that steep portion at the bottom it would be do able. Still you would have to hit it with speed and use the momentum. Not a slow crawl there. It looks like it is about 70 degrees.

I agree with josh 6575, hit it with some speed, and a small rock at the very bottom to help the rear get up on it,yea it will climb it but not at a slow crawl.

Mate that is a pretty steep rock. Before you mess around with new shocks I would get some new tires. You can get some HB rovers or sedona's from one ten crawlers.com.au and they also sell some shocks too. They have great service.

Do people run wider hexes on there bully's to run the sedona and rover tire? Reason i ask is because the stock tire nearly touches the shocks and from the info i have acquired the sedona is a wider tire than the stock or is it not an issue?

I run sedonas on mine, but also iam running hittman narrow alum wheels, with stock wheel hexes, yea the rovers an sedonas are wider but with stock wheels iam not sure, you might look into wideners from rc4wd, that will give you 10mm wider offset, see if the hobby shop in your area has them?, you will be amazed what the white dot rovers or sedonas will climb!

On my ready to run I cut the center section out of the stock wheels and narrowed the fronts by using spacers like the dlux wheels. Works very well.
