Default Crawlrking's rodeo (BULLY 2)

When I first discovered crawling world about 3 years ago, the first machine, the first MOA that hit my eyes was a bully. I was pretty amazed to see that thick truck crawling, scraping over incredible clifs.
A lil' search showed me that this rig was very solid and durable but there were so many things to buy to make it that powerful and I so wanted to drive at that time that I left for scaling (SCX10) but the bug was there...
I quickly came back with a Losi MRC pro but it was frustrating as the MRC being a nice little truck, it didn't have the monstruous possibilities of the MOA world.
Then I discovered the Bergs and happened to own one that I never finished mounting... I needed to know more about this kind of trucks !!!
I jumped on the train like everybody and inspired by Harley tweaks and some great builds on the french forum, I bought the plastic BERG : XR10 you named it
And I still enjoy improving it 'cause it's part of the fun, maybe the major part, BUILDING a new competitive rig
I won't lie, with all the new custom parts that hit the market today, you can with some funds, build the machine you dream of and trying the berg experience again was tempting but I like going somewhat different.
Joel's recent win at Nats tends to prove once again that the best rig is the one you're comfortable with and that you're used to drive !
That's pretty much why my XR still goes with the pricey Vp parts I installed on it and I don't really want to get rid of them in search of ounces less. Sure, some mods can really help but I don't feel that mood.
So, a few days ago, while haunting this forum, I got caught by the BULLY 2 version and couldn't be more pleased with what I saw : clearly a pair of axles that originally came with all the mods that make us spend all our money.
Felt it like a call as I had a few parts laying around and began my search:

This is what I found :

Secret Agent 3.5 chassis
Ti links upper and lowers for it
SCX10 with jeep cups
Mamba micro pros dual esc smash
Tekin 35T motors (to be changed next year except if someone let a pair of Vapors escape on here)
Hitec 7954SH servo
Vp SLWs V4 black set
Futaba R604FS receiver
Futaba 4PKS transmitter (the one I use for all my toys !!!)

All of this you'll judge completely new !!!!

But I was missing the essence of that new truck : THE AXLES, OUT OF STOCK everywhere except from here

BUT !!! yesterday I saw some light at TeamGoNads and jumped on it, it's not complete but I have the first part : Front axle ordered !!!!

Everything is ready, even the grease to get that thing mounted fast !

and unleash the mad BULLY 2 !!!

Like you said the b2s caught my eye too. Looking forward to seeing this build and others to see how these axles play out on the rocks.

Update guys : while on the wait, I couldn't help jumping on a nice masterpiece and I'll surely ditch the SA for a DA !!!
I have a lot of plans for that build, in between BR-Minis, pullers 400, egressed shocks, glued -on wheels... Hurry RC4WD !
Stay tuned.

Some pics to drool on !!!

I'll try to update to the great SMV skid as soon as possible.

I wanna go with a RedBully theme like my avatar on that build and some of the new YTC anodized wheels could definitely be a nice addition to them
Also some grey SLWs with blue beadlocks could do the job... But next addition while waiting on RC4WD may be some CC TI links...

Chassis showed up today and I'm more than happy with my purchase !!! That thing is so cool that I had to resist to not mount it on some other spare axles I've got home...
First thing I did was to remove all the steel screws and replace them with Ti and Al ones - where I crawl, your rig will bless with such a change !!! - and probably lose some weight.

Photo doesn't show but even the skid got that treat... And the Double agent is so light that I decided to mount it with CF upper links...

Ti lowers are on their way to my home and my gold mining could be over soon if the axles were out soon

Still preparing the cocoon for those nice axles... I was somewhat free this evening and got added the SCX10 shocks it will use !!! 50wt all around, LOSI silver springs (soft) to have a nice smooth traveling.

Little by little... But when will I have a hand on those ?

That's the question...
I almost looks like RC4WD was not ready to release the axles, or at least they were not expecting that such an interest on them.

Great work so far!

Thanks a lot !!!

Some update, I try to keep them coming as I can but if the axles take too long, we may be short on that soon !!!

Today, I got mounted the new wheels for that build - Thanks Tomi, your work is AwesomE, man ! - and I love them. Lil' by little, this truck is becoming my main one, hahaha.

So, the design is well known now but as I still prefer my beadlocks, he changed it a bit...

Inner wheel face

Outer face ! the center is incased in the bead.

Rear view with the shifts that will replace the hexes of the bully axles

Front view now ! if i can, I'll replace the screws with Ti ones to avoid tarnishing due to seashore crawling

As everyone saw, I'll go with Voodoos (blue compound with 6" CI DD foams). I got to weigh them and the whole set goes by 550gr. / 1lb 21.

I tried to get a view of what it could look like at the final...

RC4WD ?

The wheels look fantastic.
I'm also a fan of beadlocks and I don't see myself going to glue on wheels in the future...

How wide are the wheels?
One of things that makes me re-think about getting the voodoos is that they seam to work better with wider wheels (about 1'').
I'm using 0.7'' and don't really what to (can't) go any wider...

I had the same servo and didn't like it so much cause if you get stoke between rocks it would not do the job as good as a 7950 or7980
