| RC4WD dig controller question
Ok, for those using the RC4WD dig controller, does your slave motor always go to brake? I’m running a Flysky g7p, installed the dig to switch 3. I programmed it in and works great. What I can’t find is if everyone’s non active axle is free spinning or has the brake applied. It seems my brake is active. Any help would be great. |

I know 1:1 rigs with it and the few videos I’ve watched online of rc’s with dig, the rear axle is locked, not free spinning. I’ve never owned an rc with dig function though.

I ended up emailing RC4WD tech help to get the answer. They basically said that the dig unit when switched away from a motor simply cuts power to the motor. Which makes perfect sense.

I never really used the dig switch from RC4WD though I did start off with one. I imagine the only resistance you'll get out of the motor thats off is from the gearing (slow gearing = higher resistance faster gearing = less resistance) and the motor itself. I went with a dual ESC setup which allows for finer tuning. With a daul ESC you can change the power split between the axles to get infinitely adjustable overdrive/underdrive or just switch the motor completely off. Ya, that’s a really good point. If I decide to change ESC’s I may go that route
