Default Quick TF2 build ready for the UK Nats

This is my 3rd TF2 build. First one sold to a spectator at last years nats, 2nd got so many parts robbed for another build it was cheaper to buy a new one, hence this build.
I've built it with all what I consider to be needed up grades and mods, those being....
CVD's, red leafs, junfac drive shafts, tango down wheels set in prowler tyres, metal sliders.
Mods were move the front shock behind the axle, lift the steering arm above the leafs, strip the trani, transfer and axles and heavily grease, checking the shimming of the axles too.
Electrics are, tamiya cr 35t motor, Novak rooster esc, savox steering servo, rc4wd gear change servo and Spektrum tx/rx.
I've built it to look factory fresh, no mojave bumpers or winch (will use a winch buddy at the nats). Also done the seat with driver.

Day 3

Day 4

And the rest of the Nats entrants line up

Looking really nice!!! A very tidy executed build!! The Tango Down rims look great. Just picked up a set myself the other day along with some Trail Buster tires for one of the TF2's I'm putting together currently. Building two TF2's at once since I had so many extra parts from the first build....

Cheers,
Nick

A good local friend of mine is knocking me up some subtle add ons for my car, just to give it a little protection at the nats.

Here's no1 the roll bar

OK today I got time to pop over to my mates workshop and pick up the final part, the front bumper with winch mount and stinger. Again wanted it really discreet and small, just enough to hold the winch on. He is good this guy.

Right today I had organized a scale meet at a great venue we use in Tunbridge Wells. A good turn out and a great opportunity to test out the new TF2. I don't run weighted wheels now as I like the realism unweighted gives, but on the prowler tyres it was superb easily equal to MT baja claws which where my favorite, but the prowlers are a bit more scale imho.
My custom bumpers and roll cage took a proper beating towards the end of the day when we had a free for all and didn't show any signs of movement etc, great job Mark.

Anyway a few pics from today.

Looking great Bill...

I am with you on the Prowlers...I love them.

That one pic with the bridge looks like the point of no return if you miss it.

May think of tethering each rig as they go across.

Been slowly falling for the cherokee, shells being thin on the ground other than the lexan one, so plumped for one of those.

These are made for the TF2, and with the slim hex's and tango down wheels the tyres sit 100% under the shell, looks really smart.

Going to paint it externally in hopefully a traditional colour for these, just see what my local car repair shop has in stock.

Nice TF2. I would love to see how that front bumper mount is set up.

Just got home from the UK scale nationals. 3 day event, 4 courses, great time.

Had a really smooth drive on all the courses, did suffer a couple of issues, a winch line snapped (luckily just as I was done with it) and my rooster esc went puff and smoked a bit but.........

I took 1st place in class 1 with my TF2. The bit I'm most chuffed about is 94mm unweighted wheels and it still stuck like glue to the rocks and rarely got hung up.

Some pics
