Default Ty's Tekin RC4WD Trailfinder 2 Build

Got a little box in the mail today, cannot wait to get cracking on this build! This is my first RC4WD rig, first hard body scaler and first leaf truck. Big thanks to Tom and RC4WD for this kit!

Plans are to build it as-is and run a brushed setup. I want to keep it very scale and really focus on the details with this build.

Chassis:

RC4WD TF2
Mojave Hard Body

Electronics:

Tekin FXR
Tekin T35 HD
Spektrum SR2000
Servos TBD

Wheels & Tires:

RC4WD 1.55 Steelies
Pitbull Braven Berserkers

Let the building commence! So excite!

Welcome to the club. I also just got my first scale truck too a few weeks ago and just started assembling it this weekend. Sounds like you got a good list of electronics for it.

Found a direction for the build! Going for a captured technical taken from extremists by special forces. Will go right along with my M1083 build! I've got the chassis just about finished up so far, pretty fun truck to build! Started installing the FXR and T35HD since I had one spare. Going to paint the wheels black, do a little weathering and get those mounted up soon. The body is definitely going to take me some time to get right, will post up progress once I start in on it.

Welcome to TF2-land. You picked a great truck for your first hard body scaler. The TF2 guide stickied here and on the RC4WD Forum provides a good overview of the platform and some good suspension tips. Look forward to seeing what you come up with.

Welcome to the Leaf Spring Mafia!

I hope this also gets the red, black and white theme.

Progress report on the TF2. First phase of body was green all the things!

Phase two was to add the tacticool military flair. Good news is it drives under its own power now and we added some of the tactical awesomeness in the form of an M2 machine gun with mount! Took a few prints to get a decent looking gun and the clean up was crazy tedious but it came out pretty sweet! Ammo box is removable and the gun can swivel up/down and left/right. Time to start working on an interior and getting the body deets wrapped up!

Started in on enhancing performance and it'll keep me busy til the next build since the Dakar truck is finished. I took the internal shock springs out, put one helper leaf back on each corner, used o-rings under the leafs and drilled the front shock hoops to raise the front shock mount about 5mm. Definitely gave some more travel! I also cut the fenders and the bottom chin of the bumper, the shackles were smashing into the back of it and limiting travel. And finally, mounted a set of Pitbull Braven Berserkers and went out for a drive.

Good to see you're still making some progress. You can always find something to put on these trucks that's for sure. Overall how are you liking the truck still?
