Default Front bumper mount question

I just picked up a TF2 roller from another member here, on the forum. This is my first TF2 and leaf sprung rig.
The roller came with the front leaf spring shackles mounted towards the rear of the truck.
My question is, what do I need to do to get the front bumper mount bolted to the frame? The leaf spring box is keeping the bumper mount from fitting correctly.
Do I need to cut down the leaf spring mount, so I can get the bumper mount to fit like it's supposed to? Do I need to trim the bumper mount to get it to fit?

My first thought was cutting down the leaf spring box (mount) to get the bumper mount to slide in the frame rails correctly. I wanted to ask before I started hacking on it. Maybe there was a better way?

Thanks in advance for your help!

A picture would be helpful.
Sounds like something might be mounted wrong.
There shouldn't be the clearance issues you are explaining

From what I can tell, the leaf spring hanger/box needs to be notched out so the bumper mount can slide in the front frame rails. I don't see any other way around it, except for putting the shackles back to the front (stock configuration)

Here's some pics. Hopefully you can see what I'm trying to explain...

Swap those mounts side to side put the part thats inside blocking your bumper mount to the outside opposite of it

OK, but when I take one mount off, there's 2 pieces there... One piece of the leaf mount is kinda Z shaped, and the other one is just flat....

Will the z put on the inside clear the bumper mount? I havent reversed mine as it moves the tires back and causes fender rub u bolt kit will fix that by allowing you to move the axle forward or back a bit

Ok i see you can trim the one to allow the bumper mount to fit or i have seen guys make their own shackle mounts out of brass as well if you use the search and look for shackle flip or reverse there is a thread or two showing how TF2 tips and tricks thread

I got figured out!! Exactly what you explained to do with the leaf mounts! Swap sides and then flip them around! The nice thing is, the bump mount screw sets flush enough that I can put the bumper mount screws in, then put the leaf mounts on. The leaf mounts set over the bumper mount screw!!

Thank you very much for your help!! One less thing I gotta hack up!! LOL!!

You might want to keep this handy:
http://rockycountry.com/product/TF2/...y%20Manual.pdf

Those leaf mounts are actually supposed to go at the back of the front leafs (not at the front) where there are 2 pre-tapped holes in the frame. The shackles are supposed to hang in front with one screw and a lock washer, and they stay out of the way of the bumper bracket. You can obviously choose to do it differently if you want, but each change may have unintended side-effects (like blocking off the bumper or impacting alignment of the leafs) that you need to account for.

Actually moving the shackles to the rear smooths the front suspension movement on the tf2 when you put the front tires up to an object the shackles can swivel back easily like the 1:1 truck in stock form they kinda force back working against the leaf springs

I did find a set of front Bruiser leaf spring mounts. I got those to move the front axle forward a bit. I should have researched a little more. I could have got a couple U-bolt kits and moved the front axle forward.

The bruiser mounts are an excellent choice and popular swap as well
