| Scale Dodge Challenger VTA car (TF2)
Been thinking about doing this for some time now and got my hands on my 3rd TF2. Going to try and make a scale VTA car out of the RC4WD chassis. Few things done in the first night flipped the axle now trying to come up with IFS Let me know what you think!! Last edited by JCRCRacing; 12-08-2014 at 11:48 AM. |

Got some more work done and looks like I will have to cut about 1" out of the frame. after trying a-arms for a Nitro TC3 (didn't work) I stopped down at Hobbytown USA and found a few sets of arms for a R5 pan car. Had a few brackets left over from a bumper and mounted them to the chassis. Used a few old axial ball ends The parts seem to fit good and are sort of scale, but the main thing is that they work and clear the body. Now on to making the arm supports, well I'm going to try to. Styrene should hold up for a test before I spend time making something out of steel. got the drive shaft in for now as a test, will have to order one to fit later after cutting the frame. I'm looking for a late 60's Camaro hard body if anyone out there has one. I know there are a 2010's out there but not really the look I'm going for. just hope I can find one, don't want to use a Lexan body if I don't have too. Please post if you have one and or have seen one, not even sure if they made any. |

I love this build. The only issue I see at the moment is that the ball joint style front control arms will not work out so well for you. Once the sprung weight of the vehicle puts pressure on the ball joints and you hit a bump...they will pop off. If you mount the shock to the top control arm the top joint will fail; if on the bottom..that joint will pop off.
