I have 1.55 Growlers on my TF2 and I'm using the CI 1.55 foams, they would more than likely work for a 1.7 setup. I also have a set of 1.7 IROKs stretched over 1.9 wheels using 4.25 CI Lil Novas, nice setup for me. |

Thanks for the info its very helpful guys, One more advice on which of the following 1.9" rc4wd tire is good in terms of performance: 1.*********** Mad Thrasher = OD 3.85" (98mm) 2.*********** Dirt Grabber = OD 3.85" (98mm) I choose the tires because of their OD which is less than 100mm which I think it is small enough not to touch the body of my tf2 * Thanks again for the info that you can give |

You can usually go up to 4.1" (sometimes taller) without having to trim fenders, depending somewhat on tire width and wheel spacing. On one of my TF2s, I run 4.19" 1.55 Growlers on GCM beadlocks without trimming and I get only a slight bit of rubbing up front at full lock. Either one of the two you mentioned would work fine as an all purpose trail and moderate rock crawling tire. The Mud Thrashers have a more aggressive tread pattern and provide a bit more grip than the Dirt Grabbers. If you are looking for better performance on slippery rocks, try one of the RC4WD tires in the X2SS compound or the new 1.9 Pit Bull PBX A/T Hardcores (4.05" OD), all of which perform very well. I will check again the rc4wd as their shipping cost is more reasonable thou the delivery time is suck from hongkong to singapore it takes almost 3 to 4 weeks. | |
