Great scale curb appeal with that body to be sure, especially with that color. It'll look even better once you get past the work-in-progress appearance of the bare rear frame. Top notch work throughout!

Thanks...and yes, a flatbed and spare are definitely in the plans. I won't get to all of it before GCM Adventure Series this weekend, but it's coming!

That's high praise, probably not deserved, but certainly appreciated!

Thanks and re the rear, lol and see above.

Back to the updates. Now I really don't have long until GCM Adventure Series, so it was on to some of the essential details. You may have noticed the bumper strips in the outdoor pix:

I made these from leather lace from the crafts store. It just happens to be the perfect size and looks just like rubber.

Side marker lights:

How about a glove box latch made from epoxy modeling putty:

While I had the modeling putty out, I had a go at some shifters (modeling putty for the bases and knobs, music wire and styrene for the rods):

With painted and weathered knobs:

I was hoping to have time to do a center console with A/C vents, but that will have to wait. I will get the n00b fenders mounted and do a temporary mount of the flatbed before the weekend, and then she'll be ready to hit the trails. Can't wait for the weekend to get here...!

Thanks. The encouragement I can offer is that I couldn't have done this 2 years ago, and there are plenty of people whose skills are far beyond mine. Just keep plugging away and don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Thank you, sir!

Here's the latest update. I was finally able to get it out for some extended action while getting ready for the RC4WD Uwharrie #tinytrucks Challenge. The truck did great, especially as the leafs started to break in (which didn't take long). The suspension is very stable and predictable, and the overall performance is a pleasant surprise. The biggest performance issue is steering (no surprises there), so it won't be long before a set of NCYotas shows up.

Here's a quick video I put together:

I still have work to do on the flat bed and the engine bay. But until I have time to get to those, I'm going to have fun wheeling this sweet rig!

Look what I ran into at the RC4WD Uwharrie #tinytrucks Challenge yesterday:

Let's see how those seats compare to the real thing...

I think that works!

Thank you, kind sirs. My work here isn't done yet , but this one has been put to the side for a bit while I work on some new builds. I should have more updates later this summer/fall.
