Default Grave Digger 1 "Grandma"

I am not done with my Bigfoot 4, but while I wait for some custom parts, I decided to start my Grave Digger 1 as I saw her sitting outside and was sad to see her in the state she is in.

I have already ordered a few parts, but I am working on the frame. This is just a rough stencil, but I matched it perfectly with the actual truck. Also having the wheels made.

This is going to be awesome. My favorite monster truck of all time is Grave Digger.

The JConcepts body came in, and like the 1988 Ford F350 body it is about an inch short. Everything else matches up. Why do they make them short?

They usually size their bodies for certain vehicles. I believe the JConcepts is made to Clod Buster length.

Well I wish they made them in both sizes.

Everything lines up perfectly when it is scaled down to 1/10, it’s just short. Ugh. More work. Sucks but has to be done.

Yeah same. He won’t let anyone restore it. That is why I am making this 1/10 scale version, I guess to kinda pay it homage. If I could I would either try and get it from Dennis or make an exact clone.

I don't understand why he won't fix it up either. Makes no sense to let history rot away...

But if you look up your favorite monster truck from the 80's the chances are it's in the same, sad condition unless it's one of the few that was preserved.

Here is part of the frame, very very rough example. Still have a lot of work to do to it.

Started with the engine. Had to get the actual block color. Used Chevy block paint.

Getting there. Mocking it up with some spare leaf springs. Heavy duty ones come in next week.
