This is a taking it back for the OG's location and RECON is excited to announce the next mini-series; the Maniacs of the Moon Rocks. A mini-series is a 3 rnd series within the 10 rnd R-2-R Winter Series. Mark A. won the first mini-series, The Cutthroat Crawling Classic and since he is the current overall points leader, Mark is sure to be a threat in this mini series.


There will be 4 courses to test every maniacs skill level.

The R.E.C.O.N. Rubber-2-Rock Winter Series found itself at the Moon Rocks for round 5. RECON is always taking drivers to new rock to comp on, but for the next mini series we’re kickin’ it at an old school location. The Maniac of Moon Rocks mini series will consist of 3 round held at various locations throughout Moon Rocks. The driver with the most points in those three rounds will own the title.

RECON is always pushing the envelope of competition formats and increasing drive time along with the challenging chess game of r/c rock crawling. Round 5 consisted of 5 courses, two of which featured an extended course. RECON’s extended course is essentially a bonus course for the pro driver that completes the first course of 10 gates; he or she immediately drives an additional 10 more gates, but with less time to do it in.

With courses built and seasoned with plenty of boundary markers, the drivers took to the courses. All three of the Nevada State Champions were on hand and they sent a message to the rest of the field. That message was simple, “We are the best in r/c crawlers in Nevada”! For any doubters, the 2.2 pro, 2.2 sport, and the 1.9 Nevada State Champions all won their respective class and for those at home, the champs on a two comp winning streak. Who is going to end their dominance? Who will stop the champ train from rolling over the competition? Could it be the Cutthroat Crawling Classic Champ Mark A.? Could it be the Unibomber, pro rookie phenom waiting to blow up the podium? Could it be a form winter series champion or a Nor-Cal pro hiding over the grassy knoll? All great questions that may be answered at round 6, that is unless the current state champs have anything to say about it and I’m sure they will.
