What is everyone using for gate markers? Was thinking using shewers and red/green duct tape with a jiffy marker. Post up what you are using and How the work, cause I think my idea will be alot of work and won't last long. Sent from my GT-I9100M using Tapatalk 4 |

You could always go to a tennis court and "find" some balls and cut them in half Sent from my VS930 4G using Tapatalk 4 |

They may be too small, but for my micro crawler I use those little memory foam earplugs. My buddy "borrows" whole boxes of the things from work, so I have about 50 of em... 25 gates ain't too shabby. And they're lightweight! |

pop bottle caps... those nerfgun discs.... wine corks... spray paint a handful of small rocks....chalk paint to make dots on the trail.... save your cardboard toilet and paper towel rolls and paint them...tent stakes.... sharpen sticks with a knife and paint them....cut up a clothes hanger into pieces, straighten, and paint a 1 inch section of them with neon nail polish or hang pieces of an old white sock off of them... the poshibeeraries are endrish |

Need to get pics, but when in Korea I collected lime green cone-shaped caps from water bottles for my rally track

I found using the 6'' Bamboo Skewers (wooden shish kabob skewers) & Sticky notes is the cheapest method. I used HD Clear Duck Tape for the sticky notes, just in case of water. However it does take awhile to knock out a lot, so best have a dedicated friend to help!

The biggest problem I found with the surveyor flags, was due to them not being rigid, they were hard to read gate numbers on course, and a real bitch to organize after the comp. I ended up making gates very similar to what Parker uses for his events. They are tough and very durable, but not the cheapest route. But after making over 500, I didn't want to do it twice lol |

| Re: Gate markers Yeah that is the only downfall I have out of these! However they work great in dirt and look killer once setup! I gonna be look into some alternate version's of my past set I made, will look into a reinforced pole/ maybe cut up metal coat hangers or old bike spokes? lol

Get a bundle of drop ceiling tie wire. Cut it into 16-18" lengths. This stuff is really good and a bundle will give you enough for 6-700 gates. Its strong enough for hard ground and bends easily enough to stand on solid rock with a rock weight. And they straighten back out afterward. 2x2 corplast flags. Its more of an investment but will last for many comps. Two clubs could even split the material costs. |

I found some thicker, stronger bamboo skewer sticks at SweetBay grocery stores. I noticed they do have a good selection of colored metal marking flags at Ace Hardware.
