So if you run 1.9 tires on 2.2 rims. What class does that put you in? 1.9 adventure or 2.2 adventure class... couldn't find anything about it. thanks for the help.

class is based on wheel diameter not tire size. tell them what you have when you tech and they will put you in the right place. have fun. "thumbsup"

Ok... I keep reading in threads about "carnage" how bad is my rig going to get beat up on these? What are the causes of carnage? We are driving stock scx10s.....nomally we hang out on trails....still going, but am I going to be without a rig for a few paydays after an event?

At the last g6 all I had left of a truck was a driver side rear axle shaft.....

Just kidding your stock rig will be fine but your shoes will be wore out...

Drove my Honcho for three years and only broke a couple driveshafts, (the old style, not wb8). That included a few RTX races as well. Durability is all about driving smart. If you love the skinny pedal, things will break.

Great Question, AdventureIQ and one that has many variables to an answer that ultimately in only answered by you.

First, the Axial SCX10 Line up of scale rc trucks is the Official Truck of the RECON G6 and has been for two years. This is because the SCX10 is the only out of the box, stock truck to earn the esteemed title of "Driver of the Day" in a RECON G6.

Will a stock Axial SCX10 Honcho, Dingo, Jeep JK hold up to the demands of a RECON G6, yes.

Driving style will play a part in carnage. I always say "drive smart". That means don't drive over your ability or your scalers capability. There is no penalty for winching or being towed over or through a section of a RECON G6 Stage. There is a penalty for you using your mandatory tow strap, in a scale fashion, of course, to pull your scaler up, over, or through a section. This includes getting back on it's tires, too, just incase you flopped on your side.

Here is video that may help,

Causes of carnage result from various things, not driving smart, no maintenance, lack of preparation, or Murphy decided to jump in for a ride. Some of these are in our control, but a lot of them are not and are unforeseen. I've seen and experienced most every part break or fail over the years and majority of them are driver induced. Not taking a tow strap from a fellow G6'er or not wanting to penalty strap or not using sand ramps or their winch.

Note: Sand ramps are the most used functioning scale item in a RECON G6. I don't count the tow strap, because a tow strap is mandatory and sand ramps are not mandatory, but highly recommended.

I like this motto, "Winners prepare". Finishing a RECON G6, is like Winning a RECON G6.

My final answer is...

Drive smart. Have Fun. Finishing a RECON G6 is like Winning a RECON G6! "thumbsup"

Skeeno, your a great example of driving smart.

You know what your Honcho is capable of and that capability grew with your driving ability. Routine maintenance played a part of the longevity as well.

Don't me modest, your stock Honcho and driving smart earned you the title of being the first ever Axialfest 1.9 RECON Terra Cross Champion.

Congrats and we will see you getting your scaler fix, in the RECON G6!

Nope. The drivers that don't have the G6 door decals have not asked for them or choose not to run them.

There will be some available at the Ruckus G6. Bring a Monster Rojo Rehab and I will hook you up! ;-)

AdventureIQ 10-10-2013 09:46 PM

Picked some up and have it in the cooler

Q1: So after seeing how much fun we had....when is the next one after Sparks? Oregon, Nevada, Washington.....

Q2: what made the people (Oregon guys) so much fun at the Bend G6? This was very different from the people I have met locally....can I expect the same in Sparks?
