Default parallel wiring on RS10? - 4 wire confusion -

has any one set up the wiring to run parallel?

my main question is: Do i solder the two blue wires together and then the two yellow wires together that come out of the esc and then split them off to each motor?

or will this cause any problems to the esc?

ive seen the parallel diagram on this site and it only shows the esc with 2 wires not 4

pics are great if you have them

gettin tired of that clod stall...

Blue to blue.yellow to yellow. So that 1 blue wire comes off of the speed control and makes a Y to the front and rear. The same with the yellow.I did it and it doesnt make a difference.I still get stall on the rear wheels,no extra power.not worth the trouble.

Best solution is look into a better ESC like the Rooster Crawler, Sidewinder of FXR.

Well then, S.C.Jeff.

im in Monterey, we should compare notes sometime and throw some rocks.

anybody else have any other knowledge?

what about running wires in series
my electrician friend said usually it will increase power possibly double it
he's not a d/c specialist nor has he ran an rc since the aluminum RC10.

An esc will not get rid of clod stall. Two esc can get rid of clod stall. The idea behind the wire mod is that the extra resistance due to the longer wire between the front and back motor would allow the back motor to ingage a sooner that the front. The electriacl reasons are to technical for me right now. On the 4wire esc you wire both of the wires from the esc to the back motor and then run to the front motor if that makes since. I have the Sidewinder and it doesn't make any difference in clod stall. If you have smaller wire than the stock, you can use that between the motors. Small wire - more resistance - more help with clod stall.

Unfortunately it's a MOA rig...clodstall will be a part of it, but it can be made more tolerable. Just like with shafty's and the dreaded torque twist. For the parallel wiring mod...check the tips and tricks page here:
Official RS10 tips and tricks thread.

I even posted a link on that page that shows a diagram of how it should be wired...even if the ESC shown in a diagram only shows 2 wires, that's ok...if you combine both yellow wires and both blue wires...you essentially have 2 wires there also. I could tell a bit of a difference when I did the wiring mod...I stalled a bit less, but it was still there. You're not gonna get a drastic power increase just by changing the wiring, though. If you simply upgrade the ESC and leave everything else alone, you're not gonna get rid of the stall. It's overall tuning that helps it out...on my setup, my rig barely has clodstall...only when it gets in some tough binds. Less weight on the back, better motors, better overall electronics, go to a lower pinion size on the back, etc.. are all ways to improve it. Do some searching about clodstall...you'll find hundreds of posts about it, some of which have great info.

the RS is already wired parralell, there is really no "mod" to make it what it already is, and soldering the wires wont change a thing. the 2 blue wires are connected in the ESC.

well thanks to all for the input.

good info about the RS10, and I'm glad i didn't waste my time buggering up wires that were already parallel.

now lest watch this thread fall to the bottom!
