Default need to know how to install 1.5" wide motors

I need to know how you guys have installed a larger diameter motor in you rs10's. I may be getting some integy 45t motors and need a little help before I buy them to see if I can install them

Default This is my way sure there is better/others

RS10 540's

First off disassemble the axles completely. Find where the spur gear center shaft sleeve is, THIS is the maximum amount of gear case you can remove, or your spur gear will not mount to case and you have just ruined the gear case.

Drill two small pilot holes one above and one below the sleeve that holds the spur shaft. This is for reference only.

Dremel using the thin cut off wheels for plastic mark the shape of motor CENTERED on case and remove material slowly. Then when close use a 80-100 grit sanding drum to finish.

You will now have two gaping Triangle holes in the case!! Use ½'' rubber wire heat shrink and split down the middle (length wise) and cut two ¾'' pieces use your tire glue CA, and glue in the heat shrink FROM the inside to cover holes.

Now you must drill holes threw the gear box to run new motor screws threw and make them slotted to adjust gear mesh. You are going to have to cut the gear cover so that it only holds with one Center screw use the two holes (upper and lower ) to start the new motor holes.

I currently am using 15T pinions until I get metal gears than I will steep down to 12T
