Default RS10 Transmitter Range

What kind of range should I expect with the RS10? If I am within 10 or 15 feet of the truck it works fine. If I get further than that the front and rear servos start twitching constantly like the truck is not getting a clear signal. It has been like this since I received it. I don't need a huge range because it is a crawler, but I would expect it to get more range than it is getting!

My son's cheap toy store RC car has about 10 times the range of the RS10 and it only uses 2 AA batteries in the transmitter.

yea the range pretty much sux on them. usually about that 10 or 15 feet. they are only a 27 mhz signal so its not as strong as most popular 75 mhz signal. or even further would be like a 2.4 ghz. so yea you wont get much range on them.

When I was using the stock radio it seemed to be very picky about the antenna wire being pointed up and out of the body. If I layed the antenna over or tucked it inside of the body my range went to 10'-15'. Also make sure that the antenna wire is kept away from metal. If it's laying on the metal at all it will cause all sorts of problems.

I'm still using the stock radio in my Wheely King with 4ws and love it. The range is as good as any other radio I have. Just have to keep the antenna pointed up and away from metal.

After 1 section of the antenna broke I was getting about1-2 feet of range before 5-10feet. Picked up a tq3 2.4 ghz for 30$shipped,no more glitches range is as far as I can see now at least 1/4 mile

Ok, thanks for the info guys. At least I know that mine isn't broken. I'll try adjusting the antenna to see if that makes any difference. I guess I'll have to go 2.4ghz if I want any type of range.

What type of range are you looking for, exactly? I've never had the need to be farther than about 10 feet from my crawler...I like being near it on the rocks I crawl on so I can see what's going on if I get bound up or anything like that and so I can see the lines I'm crawling.

10ft is good until you climb a near vertical rock face about 18ft and lose range at the top,I aint no billy goat.
More so than the range my old rx glitched like crazy fried 6 servos, especially after I threw the bec on
