| RS10 XT Range
New here. I wanted to know if I could run the B7058 TX (Radio) and the B7059 RX from the Ground Pounder they sell ?. I like the Tx (Radio) that comes with the RX10 XT due to the ease and functions, and the Ground Pounder one looks to be the same with more range. I'm looking to get more range. I have some good hills to climb on my property that are quite steep and go pretty far with still being in viewing distance. Is there a easier way to get more range out of this while still maintaining the same TX (Radio) that came with the RS10 XT? Thanks Andy. Last edited by CrAsHmAsTeR; 12-27-2010 at 11:34 AM. |

The radios on the RS10 (and RS10-XT), Rockslide Super Crawler, and Ground Pounder are identical. With any of these RX/TX, make sure you have fully charged batteries in the radio and vehicle, and ensure the antenna is fully uncurled from the vehicles. Keeping it off of the metal chassis plates is a good thing as well. |

On the Redcat website the Ground Pounder one looks identical but it has a different part # if you look in there manual. I noticed that the radio is offered under a different # for the RS 10. I'm assuming the radio for the GP uses different frequencies for the range you get out of the GP. I'd like to at least get 40-50 feet of range. Thanks |

No idea why they'd be different numbers, as you order the crystals separate. The radios themselves are identical.

Would replacing the crystals give me more range? And do the radios use crystals as well, and are they replaceable? I'm new to this so bear with me on these newbie questions. Thanks. |

different crystals wouldn't give you more range, just a different frequency to control the vehicle. On AM or FM style radios, you'll have a crystal for the transmitter and a 2nd one for the receiver. Those aren't interchangeable. Pretty sure Redcat sells their crystals as sets, rather than individually, though. |

Ok. I called Redcat and your right they are the same controllers and RX. I should get the same amount of range as the Ground Pounder. Thank you for your Help. and I'll take a look how the antenna is ran. |

Many people have been getting bad radio's with the new xt's. No clue if the quality has changed or what???? Contact Redcat and have them send you another one with new crystals. OH, and you'll have to ship them the old radio back also...... Sucks but that is their warranty policy. |
